Within a couple of days we’ll all be enjoying Loch Ness Knit Fest once again so we just wanted to share some of the wee (but important) details with you!
A handy map
Although the Knit Fest Hub is based at the Ice Centre this year, due to the sheer volume of activities and workshops we’re using a number of venues across the city centre. Here’s a handy map to help you find your way around – a hard copy is available in festival programme which is available at the information desk when you arrive.
Getting to the Knit Fest Hub
From Inverness city centre to the Knit Fest Hub it takes roughly:
Car – 5mins
Bus – 15mins – We are easily accessed using the regular bus services to and from the City Centre. For the most up-to-date bus timetables please click here to be taken directly to the operators website. The current service running to Inverness Leisure is Route 2 and the closest bus stop the facility is the Cemetery Stop at Glenurquhart Road.
Walk – 25mins – taking in the sights and sounds along the beautiful River Ness.
Cycle – 10mins
There will be ample parking on the day between the Ice Centre, Archive Centre and Leisure Centre. All of which are footsteps away from the Knit Fest Hub.
Starts Friday 13th October at 9am. Finishes Sunday 15th October at 2pm.
The Knit Fest Hub with Marketplace, Main Stage and Crafting Village (Inverness Ice Centre) is open from 10-6pm Fri/Sat and 10-2pm Sun. Knitting classes run from 9am-12pm and 2-5pm each day at the Leisure Centre, Inverness Museum, Mercure Hotel and Inverness Ice Centre.
Refreshments are available throughout the day at the Knit Fest Hub and the Loch Ness Knit Fest team can recommend other places to eat and drink if you’re in the area. Just ask!
