National Tea Day

On April 21st every year, we honour our tea. It is a national drink in the UK after all! To mark the occasion and celebrate the nation’s much-loved ‘cuppa’, Edinburgh based tea experts, Red Box, have just announced that they’re creating a fabulous tea tasting experience at Loch Ness Knit Fest this year!

At Loch Ness Knit Fest this year you’ll be able to kick back and enjoy a good cuppa’ with tea tastings in the recently announced ‘Knit and Natter Lounge’. With Marketplace, Main Stage entertainment, Crafting Village demonstrations and 30+ workshops in the Knit Fest Hub, the ‘Knit and Natter Lounge’ will be the perfect break out area from the woolly madness. There will be comfy seats and a living-room feel created with yarn-bombed furniture from New Start Highland and exclusive finishing touches from the sheepskin specialists Skye Skyns. Red Box Coffee are the main sponsors and will be offering up a fresh brew to compliment the cosy setting! Red Box have a range of twenty different loose teas, three having a Scottish twist; Scottish raspberry and lavender, Whisky and Chocolate flavoured tea and Scottish Heather and Vanilla.

Founder of Red Box, Daniel Campbell, stated ‘Our love for coffee and tea comes from its power to connect people all over the world, just like knitting! We named our company after the iconic red telephone box, a symbol of communication. It’s great to be involved in Loch Ness Knit Fest 2018 and we’re looking forward to seeing all those connections made over a good cup of Red Box tea at the event this year’.

Thanks to Red Box, Loch Ness Knit Fest will have the kettle on for your arrival.

Festival Director Cecilia Grigor mentioned, ‘we wanted to add value to the festival ticket with something a bit different and are really pleased to have Daniel and Red Box backing the Knit and Natter Lounge. Red box offer quality product with locally sourced ingredients so it’s a real treat for our festival goers. We hope the tea will be a talking point for people as many come to our event looking to build their craft network and meet new people.

Loch Ness Knit Fest runs from 19th – 21st October 2018. All tickets are on sale now at www.lochnessknitfest.com.
